miss her.

A little over a week ago one of my best friends, Ashley, moved to Portland, Oregon. I am happy that she has found happiness in Portland and we all hope there will be plenty of visits in the near future. I miss Ashley and was very sad to see her go; girls night just won't be the same without her.

It feels like yesterday when we graduated High School, definitely not 6 years ago. Where has time gone? Married, babies, moving to different states. So many changes in such a short time span. It is so weird to think that our childhood years are well behind us. As we go through the many life changes, we realize it is apart of growing old.

To my lovely friend Ashley, thanks for being so wonderful and I am so happy for you! AZ misses youuuuu!!!

Squeaky Clean

Yes, I will admit, I have an obsession with keeping my car as clean as possible (squeaky clean.) Sometimes I slip and it gets a little dirty, but for the most part, I keep a clean car. Lately I have been slipping and my poor car has not been getting as many baths as it should. Tonight I left my moms house and took one look at my dirty, black, water stained rims and decided she (yes, of course it would be a "she") needed a bath.

I have always had dark cars (first dark grey, then black, now black for the third) and let me tell you, it can be hard to keep clean. Don't get me wrong, I prefer dark colored cars, but you must put in the effort to keep them looking nice.

I love everything about my car; "she" treats me good. I must keep her in good shape because Neil will be taking over while we eventually trade his car to get me an SUV. We will not be buying this SUV anytime soon but Neil is very meticulous about cars so I better keep mine in good shape. About a year ago, Neil inherited my previous car (she was a beaut) so we figure we will do the same scenario the next time around.

Forgot my blog spot password? Guilty!

I got on my blog for the first time in a while and I could not remember my password for the life of me.

My bad. 

I originally wanted to get on my blog to express my excitement for this summer. So many things are going on right now in the Greene household. Neil is working is tush off with his MBA; he started his classes last week and his time is DEVOTED to school. When Neil puts his mind to something, he gets things done, so he will have completed his MBA by next April. I am so glad it is him going back to school because after seeing him work so hard in his finance and economic classes, I would have thrown in the towel the first day.

Aside from watching my husband devote his time to school & his new job, we have decided to go on some mini-trips this summer. We decided mini trips to California and Las Vegas were more appropriate this summer; next year will be the year of fun vacations. We are excited to spend this summer with good friends, family, enjoy Arizona monsoons, spending money on our unborn nephew and watching the favorite summer-time shows (bachelorette, americas got talent and real housewives.)

There are a lot of exciting changes coming up for us and a lot of things to look forward to the next six months. I am excited for some changes in my life as well; these next couple of weeks should be exciting.

I can not wait to see what the summer brings us.

What would I do?

Without my friends???

I feel so blessed to have the still have the same set of friends I grew up with. We can go for weeks without talking and when we meet up it seems like we never skipped a beat. Sure, I have made new friends as the years have gone by, but nothing compared to the ones I have had for years.

Sometimes I worry that I am growing up too fast and I will look back and think "why didn't I do {blank}." The one thing I knew I would regret is if I didn't take more trips with my best girl friends. I have the rest of my life to work, pay bills and be mature but every now and then I want to have a weekend where I can be myself, let loose & spend quality time with my friends.

This is why we have all decided we are going to start up girls trips again.... and so it begins, in two weeks, our girls trip(s) kick off.

perfect way to end the day

Neil & I are ending our day with a perfect date (well, at least I think so.) He owes me a mall trip because I am spending tomorrow at a Spring training game; D-Backs vs Cubs (Can't say I am complaining though, I love SPRING training.)

Off to Scottsdale we go! 

I have been dying to stop by H&M and SHOP. So H&M it is.

Afterward, we are going to eat at Marcella's; if you haven't been here, YOU ARE MISSING OUT! Check out the website (http://www.marcellasscottsdale.com/) and you can see photos of this amazing Italian restaurant that has been recently added to Scottsdale mall (the new Barney's wing.) The food is to die for and the ambiance is perfect.

After the mall it will either be ice-cream at Sugar Bowl or beers at a new spot, R&R.

Today I did some major Spring (I know, I know, I am a bit pre-mature on the Spring part... but in AZ, spring starts early) cleaning. I managed to get plenty done inside & outside. I wanted to spend a majority of the afternoon outside doing yard work because I need some sun! After I finished cleaning, dusting, organizing, rearranging and doing a millions of other little things for three hours, I did some gardening. Neil & I went to Lowe's to pick up some flowers; I seriously think I could of spent hours just walking up & down the isles looking at the flowers & plants. 

Driving around the neighborhoods in Arizona, you feel like you are neglecting your house if you don't have some kind of flower arrangement outside. It is SPRING for heavens sake (okay well technically not until the end of March); BUT I have now added color to my empty flower pots.

 Thank goodness for candles.

What the Hail?

Catchy title, I know :o)

A few weekends ago it was freezing and we had an abundant amount of hail fall in our backyard. See pictures below.

January- February:

Weekend after weekend Arizona was having miserable, cold weather; I was dying for sunshine and 80 degree weather. 

March:

Bring on the sunshine, we've got the beautiful weather. Instead of giving Arizona snow days, we should be able to take off because it is just to beautiful to stay inside.

Arizona got the storms from San Diego today; we've got cloudy skies and a day full of rain. Neil and I have spent the majority of the day watching our shows and eating Valentines Day candy. Minnie has spent the majority of the day running in the rain then running & slipping on the tile floors. This dog HATES baths but for some reason she loves playing in the rain. Every ten minutes or so she will get up from the couch and run to the back window and watch the rain come down. Obviously our dog is easily entertained.

I love lazy days with my little family. Now its time to run a few errands and then to Oregano's for dinner.

enjoying the day

Neil and I decided to get out of the house and enjoy this AMAZING Arizona weather. A high of 77 degrees; I couldn't ask for better weather. We decided to grab some sandwiches and take Minnie to Papago Park for a family picnic. Minnie had a blast watching prairie dogs & ducks while Neil & I enjoyed the GORGEOUS weather. We walked around the park and little Minnie got to peek in the zoo. This is the perfect location for a nice hike or an enjoyable picnic.

After our picnic we decided to take a ride over to the new Spring training facility for the AZ Dbacks. It was so fun to see the fields; it reminds me of the good old days when I would watch Neil play High School baseball. The fresh manicured lawns and all the yummy concession stands; I can't wait to watch games at this facility. They even have a Salty Senorita spot where I purchase yummy margaritas while watching the game. Neil was in heaven while walking around the facility; he really misses playing ball. We plan on attending SEVERAL games; and plan on going to plenty of ASU baseball games. It is such a nice time of the year to get out and enjoy the sun. I couldn't imagine living somewhere that wouldn't allow us to enjoy the outdoors; granted summers here are hot, but during that time I am soaking up the sunshine in a pool!

superbowl; not so super!

Superbowl Sunday, a huge fail in my eyes.
Why? No Cardinals. And it is the Steelers.... againnnnnnnn. No new teams.
I am not going to root for the Steelers; they destroyed my hopes and dreams for a Cardinals Superbowl "W".
I am not going to root for the Packers even though that is where a majority of my family is from.
It is a total wash this year. Could both teams just lose?

Larry Fitz deserves a ring as an Arizona Cardinal. Maybe next year.

We are still representing the Cardinals though :) Way to go Minnie!

planning ahead

Recently, Neil and I have been discussing what the vacation plans will be for this year. I am a planner. I am not a "spur of the moment" type of person. So needless to say, I have to plan vacations SEVERAL months in advance. We are weighing out our options and so far we are fairly confident we will be going on the two trips below. 

First Trip.

Michigan. Yes, Michigan again this summer. We had such a good time last year that we figured, why not go again? We are figuring this will be a short summer trip. Get our fill of boating, family time and possibly catch a Tigers game.

Second Trip.

A cruise to Cabo San Lucas. I have been DYING to go somewhere tropical with all of this cold weather Arizona has been having. I started to look at destinations like: Miami & Cancun (again.) After all is said and done, it gets to be so expensive with the flights, hotels and rental cars. Since we live so close to LA, we decided to research cruises. Cruises are such a great idea; especially since we wouldn't have to rent a car or pay airfare. We have found several good deals on cruises, so we are thinking of going to Cabo early Fall. We also thought it would be a fun idea to get as many friends as possible to come with us; once the date has been established we want to spread the word. Under $400 for a 5 day cruise to Cabo on Carnival Cruise Lines, COUNT ME IN!!

Once we receive our W-2's we will make the final decision on what the plans will be. We are crossing our fingers the tax return will be a big one this year (especially due to the fact that I want a new washer/dryer!)

Neil starts his MBA program this Wednesday; my Mississippi State bulldog (sun-devil at heart.) I know he will do amazing, he is a very smart man. He will be finished April 2012, so until then, we may just have to cut down on our weekday night TV schedules.

Christmas was very good to Neil & I. All we asked for was best buy gift cards. I finally got my SLR digital camera that I have been DYING for. Neil purchased an HP laptop. His new laptop will come in handy because his MBA program starts in two weeks!!

The days this month HAVE to go quickly. At the months end, we will be vacationing in Vegas. 

We are super excited to stay at the lovely Planet Hollywood. Planet Hollywood is one resort we have been wanting to stay at.

In regards to the "Ashton Kutcher camera" I was complaining about a few posts earlier, well it's gone. Of course I would lose it at a club. My friends Hallie, Sarah, Deanna & I tried to back-track; with a packed club on Halloween, there was NO WAY we were finding that sucker.

Good-bye to my honeymoon pictures. Good-bye to pumpkin carving pictures with Minnie. Good-bye to all the random shots I have of my friends, family, husband and I. WORST OF ALL: No pictures of my cute Larry Fitzgerald Halloween costume.

Urgh, karma!

On a good note: Neil was not too mad when I announced I lost the camera last night in the club. He said "well aren't we getting you a nice camera for Christmas anyway??" Yes.... I FINALLY get my dream camera.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Tonight Neil & I will spend the holiday at my parents. First, Val Vista Lakes knows how to celebrate Halloween. Second, we are celebrating my sisters birthday which is tomorrow. Third, Hallie & I are taking Ava around in the stroller; we are excited to see cute decorations!
